This tour circles the city of Bruneck, starting near the tennis hall. This loop provides an impressive overview of the city's location and also of the mountains of the Dolomites and Zillertal Alps. At 26 km, this is not a very long ride, but it requires a certain level of fitness to tackle the 725 metres of elevation gain.
Starting from Bruneck (tennis hall), the tour leads towards Olang and then ascends onto the ridge overlooking the city. You will be rewarded with a dreamlike view of the city, Kronplatz and the most famous mountains of the Dolomites.
Starting from the valley station of the gondola in Reischach, this tour leads over the wooded north slope to the Herzlalm, where you can stop for food and a drink. With a route length of just under 20 km and relatively few metres of elevation gain, this ride is also recommended for less experienced cyclists.
However, if you'd like an even more leisurely ride, we recommend the cycling paths from Bruneck to Sand in Taufers (15 km) and from Reischach through the Riedwald to Niederolang (8 km).
First, the route goes to Bruneck and then continues south, heading for the municipalities of St. Lorenzen, Kiens, and Vintl. After about 20 km, turn right into the forest.
The main attraction is not far now – the impressive, almost 50 m high waterfall sprays its droplets onto your face. Afterwards, a technically challenging climb to Terenten (1,250 m) awaits along forest paths.
Once there, numerous trails lead back to the starting point in Bruneck.

This ride leads to the 2,275 m-high number one skiing mountain – the Kronplatz. To truly make the most of the kilometres and the mountain panorama, it is best to first take a leisurely ride to the neighbouring village of Stefansdorf. A mountain road, which after a few bends turns into a beautiful forest track, brings you close to 2,000 m above sea level, to what is known as "Moosener Kaser." After a short break, continue cross-country for several kilometres and over root-covered trails below the Kronplatz summit. Now, only the final ascent to the high plateau remains, offering spectacular views over the Dolomites and the Puster Valley. The way back is easy to find, as each of the various trails or even the Herrensteig Downhill track flows back down into the valley.

The Herrnsteig freeride trail, which is very close to our hotel, offers pure riding fun and is the heart of Kronplatz. Approximately 8 km long with an altitude difference of 1,300 metres, it challenges riders with jumps, berms and sections featuring a range of obstacles. Both experienced bikers and beginners will find it rewarding. You can reach the Kronplatz summit at 2,275 m either by bike (see previous tour description) or with the Kronplatz cable car in Reischach. The trails start directly at the mountain summit.
Examples of trails:
Herrnsteig: 1,300 m descent, approx. 8 km, Kronplatz 2000 cable car, descent to Reischach
Furcia: 500 m descent, approx. 3.5 km, Ruis cable car, descent to Furkel Pass
