Hiking in Brunico
Brunico, which is located between the Alps and the Dolomites, is the perfect base for hikes of every degree of difficulty. Hiking surrounded by undulating fields and spicily scented forests. Feel nature at every turn, away from the beaten track, and in relaxing silence!
The wonderful mountains of the Dolomites, the Zillertaler and Venediger glacier open up for the hiker with well-marked tracks and plenty of refuges, and offer everything from a leisurely walk, an easy hike in the low mountain ranges or an ascent of one of the peaks through to climbs on the Dolomite crags or glacier trips in the perpetual ice, naturally led by a qualified and experienced mountain guide.

Brunico - Riscone - Brunico
From the Bruneck ice rink up towards the “Gallstöckl” (small chapel) as
far as the “Reischach” meadows. This track takes you past the
Kapplerstöckl and onto the road to the centre of Reischach. Here turn
left and walk past the Royal Hotel Hinterhuber (view of Lamprechtsburg
Castle) to the “Unteren Riedhöfen” farms.
After 500 m a track (no. 15) leads to the railway bridge at Percha and over the Rienz Gorge back to Bruneck. This easy hike is ideal for all the family!

Riscone - Haidenberg - Riscone
Starting from the Kronplatz valley station in Reischach head left and
slightly uphill following trail no. 6, at the Korerhof and
Oberwelliserhof the trail reaches the Haidenberg road (12,4), which
leads directly to the Haidenberg inn. Here there is a choice of
following a marked climb (steep!) or the forest trail.
(Haidenberg inn – ideal place to stop off!). The return journey initially follows the same forest track to a crossroads (marked 12,4), from where you can walk directly to the village of Stefansdorf via a track. The path alongside the road takes you directly back to the starting point in Reischach.

Tour Sambock
Approach via Pfalzen to the Bergweiler Platten (1586 m; parking
available at the “Lechnerhof” inn). From there follow the 66A route
markings and the signs for “Sambock” over the pasture and steeply
upwards to the forest on the old alpine track that is marked out by
boulders, then next continue on the forest road to the Stockpfarrer
mountain pasture with its beautiful view of the Dolomites. Continue to
the Jägerhütte mountain hut, then via many steps and through a bright
Swiss stone pine forest upwards to the treeline and uphill on a narrow
track to the top with its many wonderful views, which is known as the
“Platte” (2,175 m).
Finally, continue along the broad mountain ridge at first almost flat and then somewhat more steeply to the Sambock summit cross (2,396 m). The view is stunning! The Zillertaler Alps, Rieserferner, Dolomites, Adamello and Ortler Groups, Ötztal and Subaier Alps can all be seen.

Kronplatz hike
From Reischach first of all a road leads to the “Herrnegg” car park.
Here the climb begins via a trail known as the “Rodelbahn” (toboggan
run) (route marked no. 1) to the Bergfreunde hut. There the path
traverses to the gondola mid-point station (forest track).
You then have the option of returning by gondola to Reischach (July and August only) or descending via the panoramic trail (nos. 8 and 4) via the Haidenberg inn and Stefansdorf back to Reischach.
